Well, it is most certainly true of my guest today, Willard Barth, that he did not allow his past to dictate his future – and he has gone on to demonstrate how others can prevent this from happening too!
To say that Willard did not start life with a silver spoon in his mouth is an understatement! Just consider the following – and this is the edited version:
- His father failed to turn up at his parents wedding and so left Willard to be raised by a single mother.
- Willard got bone cancer at age 8 and lost his left leg.
- He was sexually abused by a relative for many years
- He started to drink and take drugs at 14 and by the age of 20 was in jail for repeatedly driving while under the influence.
Thankfully, at age 24 Willard took control of his life and decided to take control of his own life, and to create a different path for himself.
His starting place was to learn how to let go of the traumas of his past – and God knows there were enough of those. And while saying to let go is easy – doing it is quite something else and Willard speaks engagingly about that.
He created his mantra – change is inevitable, growth is optional and transformation is a choice! Powerful words and Willard made a commitment to transform.
You can hear Willard talk about how to reframe perception – and our need to do so. Also, Willard is a big fan on becoming self-aware and he now helps his clients to achieve that, and to develop their own purpose.
This is a powerful interview, and really puts up the challenge of our own transformation – and how less onerous that transformation really is compared to what Willard undertook and overcame.
