Podcast #49: To Do Lists Are Not Habits of Successful People Says Kevin Kruse

So, is Kevin Kruse deflating your positivity balloon by dismissing your treasured to do list? Well, Kevin knows quite a bit about productivity.

His best selling book “15 Secrets Successful People Know about Time Management” is a read I highly recommend. The book is based on a series of interviews Kevin did with billionaires, Olympic athletes, entrepreneurs and straight A students.

In it he does dismiss your classic to do list as a myth for productivity. Listen here for what he says about it.

Kevin also talks about how to effectively use your calendar as a real time management tool – his rationale and approach is both refreshing and practical.

The question I love is – does your calendar reflect your priorities, or are you busy doing “stuff”? I found that challenging!!

He has a great section on procrastination – he believes that it is nothing to do with laziness and he interestingly suggests that “our future self is the enemy of our best self” – listen in to hear his philosophy. Well worth hearing, I can promise you.

Kevin also talks abut leaving the office at 5.00pm – without any guilt. He quotes Andy Groves, from Intel, who said: “I am never done” – so why think if you stay late, you will get it all done?

He shares Richard Branson’s most effective personal productivity tool – a small notebook! Seriously!!

I would highly recommend that you go to www.15timesecrets.com where Kevin is giving away his book for nothing – and throws in some videos to help you.

The books that Kevin recommends, apart form his own of course, are Victor Frankl’s Mans Search for Meaning ( available on: Amazon U.S | Amazon U.K) and Andy Groves’ High Output Management (available on: Amazon U.S | Amazon U.K)
