I wanted to know from an expert of the online world what the absolute priorities are for every business when it comes to promoting their business online.

Therefore, I was delighted when Lindsey Anderson, the founder and CEO of Web Impakt, a web development company, and Lindseys Web, an online resource for businesses, agreed to be interviewed for my podcast.

Without hesitation, Lindsey, stated the following as the “must dos”:

1. That the site is presentable – and mobile friendly, the latter becoming more and more important.
2. That you are promoting yourself on 2 social media – definitely Facebook, and one other, depending on your market.
3. That your site is search engine friendly.
4. That you capture the email address of everyone who lands on your site.

In the interview talks about how to go about these priorities.

The message is clear – you have to create the right site, and then you must be active on the site, through regular blogs and daily posting on social media. Just building a site and leaving it there is similar to believing the false premise that “build it and they will come”! They won’t, that is for sure.
