Interview with Michelle McQuaid

Today’s guest is a very interesting lady who hails from Melbourne, Australia. Michelle McQuaid is a best-selling author, workplace wellbeing teacher and playful change activator. With more than a decade of senior leadership experience in large organizations around the world, she’s passionate about translating cutting-edge research from positive psychology and neuroscience, into practical strategies for health, happiness, and business success.

Michelle helps people discover their strengths, overcome their fears, and finally discover what it truly takes to grow with confidence.

She holds a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in Appreciative Inquiry, that focuses on the 4 steps change model namely:

  1. To discover
  2. To Dream
  3. To Design
  4. To Deliver

(Listen to Michelle as she explains further what Appreciative Inquiry is about)

Her most favorite book is Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor, which is about principles of positive psychology that are essential to success and performance.

Interestingly, her friends call her the “Queen of Habits” as she was fascinated at how habits form in the brain and it is one of the skills she constantly teaches.

Running, meditating and spending quality time with her two young boys are just some of her daily rituals.

An honorary fellow at Melbourne University’s Graduate School of Education, she blogs for Psychology Today, Huffington Post and Live Happy and her work has been featured in Forbes, the Harvard Business Review, the Wall Street Journal, Boss Magazine, The Age and more.
