When you demonstrate that your clients’ pain pains you, then your clients know you are there to serve them says Doug Foresta.
Demonstrating that you understand their pain is a key part of finding your voice for your podcast, your blog or whatever other way you communicate with your audience.
Doug is a great believer and a very successful coach in the art of podcasting and his approach is great because it is so simple:
- Understand your clients’ pain points and talk to them about how to resolve it – all about finding your voice.
- Don’t let the technology be a barrier – start your podcast with the most basic of tools. A modest investment is a mic and some free recording software and you are good to go. You can invest more later, but just start where you are.
We discussed finding your passion and Doug’s view is that, deep down, we all know but we can sabotage it out of fear. Listen to what Doug says about that here.
He is also quick to point out that following your passion is not a trouble free path – it can turn your life upside down too – but your life has meaning, and once you face up to those challenges, you would not change a bit.
Doug’s book choice is “5 Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die” by John Izzo, available at Amazon U.S | Amazon UK.
